this is probably my favorite verse as of right now. There are no words to describe the beauty of a star, and the way the light up the night sky. Without them, the night sky would just be dark and plain, rather than the oustandingly beautiful work of art, so obviously designed by our wonderful creator.
I feel like this verse is saying we can do the same for this world. So many people today are living for nothing, not seeing the eternity in heaven that God has prepared for those who live for him. This nothing is dark and empty, like a sky with no stars. But as Christians, we know that this world is just the beginning, but never the less, it is a place to glorify his name. By living with purpose, that purpose being for him, we are lighting up this world, and making it more than just a dark place, full of corruption; but rather the absolutely amazing place, that God has given us to shine in.*
And anyways, who wouldn't want to be considered like a star?
