When ordinary turns extraordinary

So I've decided that since God has a plan for my life, this stupid high school business has to be a part of it. I spend a lot of time thinking that I'm just going to try and finish high school as painlessly as possible, so that I can move on to helping enhance God's kingdom, and making a difference in the world. But lately I've been thinking, and realizing that God doesn't give us anything so that we can just get through it and move on with our lives; especially not something that takes up four years of our lives! And when i thought about it more,  I kind of realized that school is actually a HUGE opportunity to show God's love, and make a difference in peoples lives. It actually seems kind of selfish to just want to make it out of our crazy jungle of a high school alive( and hopefully with a diploma), without  intending to leave fingerprints on any ones lives. I mean, God used people in all sorts of situations to show his love to the world.  Most of his disciples were Shepard's, or fishermen, or even tax collectors. It did matter what they did, but rather who they were doing it for. They were all just people in ordinary situations, living for God in extraordinary ways.  And I think that God wants us all to be the same. He wants us to take these ordinary situations like high school, and turn them into something extraordinary that glorifies his name. Because after all, this life isn't for our own desires, its for him, and he's known all along, all of the little opportunities he has planned for us to bring glory to his name.

Jeremiah 29:11

----" Then Jesus said to his disciples, if any of you wants to be my follower, then you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me."
Matthew 16:24"----
